Cowgirl Blues symbolizes dreamy, hand-dyed mohair and merino yarns, produced fairly and lovingly in Cape Town. Founder Bridget Henderson gained rich inspiration through countless travels as a management consultant, but the most beautiful color combinations came to her mind during hikes around Table Mountain. It was there that she began experimenting with hand-dyeing by herself. Due to the high demand for her work from Europe, her team has continued to grow, now including several women who have received the necessary training and earn fair wages. In the workshop, which also houses a studio, Bridget's team hand-dyes various wool and mohair yarns in variegated or semi-solid colors. Sometimes, just a touch more dye creates the unique Cowgirl Blues color palette. Variegated (speckled) yarns always include semi-solid hues, creating wonderful combinations. The same color in different yarn combinations creates surprisingly beautiful effects.
