This is a collection book of 143 old textiles collected in different parts of Sweden, analyzed by Doris Wiklund in English translation. It includes her detailed commentary on each project, as well as many detailed drawings, charts, explanations and diagrams. Many fine threads and reeds are used in these old pieces, but Doris offers suggestions to modern weavers on how to adapt these old patterns to modern threads and sets.

The projects listed are as follows:
・Block damask
・Simple block weaves (M's & O's, halvdräll, overshot and crackle)
・Multi-shaft weaves (kuvikas, twill variations and double weave)
・Simple household weavings (Fabric for clothing, pillowcases, towels, curtains and upholstery)
・Shawls and Ranor (many specialties of northern Sweden)
Art weaves (monk's belt, rose path, krabbasin, rölakan, slarvtjäll, noppväväv, upphämta and dukagångång)
Rugs (with rags, weft-faced and rep)
