saredo ito's standard RECYCLED COTTON 100® KINARI is now available in skeins of approximately 50g (approximately 195m) that are easy to dye even in small quantities.
This yarn is recommended for those who want to dye it in their own original colors, or for those who want to try knitting, weaving, or mending with a small amount.
Recycled cotton made from 100% virgin cotton waste (unused fiber) generated in Japanese spinning mills.
In cotton spinning factories, when they use a comb to straighten the direction of the cotton fibers while spinning the yarn, the dust and short fibers that are generated are called "false cotton." This factory, one of the largest in Japan, located in Shimane Prefecture, spins yarn using a unique spinning method, and generates relatively long-pile fallen cotton.
This cotton lint is usually sold to futon batting dealers or disposed of, but it is softly spun again with a loose twist on a spinning line dedicated to recycled cotton set up in the same factory, making it an eco-recycled material that is GENUINE "MADE IN JAPAN".
An opportunity to stop and think about the sustainability of limited resources...
KINARI's 'itou' yarn is not dyed and retains the texture of the yarn as it was when it was spun. If you use it as is, it will shrink slightly (5-10%) after washing compared to other colors, so we recommend knitting it a little larger.
